Long Bio
Helen Ruckledge (RNutr, MMedSci, MA) is an experienced Registered Nutritionist, Speaker, Coach and Writer. She supports people to find clarity, balance and calm in their emotional relationship with food, focusing on what to add in, not what to take away. With Helen’s FadFree Nutrition, the science is simplified into simple, actionable tips that fit into real life.
Helen’s northern English upbringing in an entrepreneurial family where ‘rules are made to be broken’ formed her down-to-earth, slightly rebellious character. This brings a fresh perspective to diet and nutrition, seasoned with flexibility and joy. Although her solutions are sensitive and non-judgemental, they are delivered with gritty realism, not idealism.
Her background as a management consultant and speaker in the nineties, through being a company director in the noughties, means she is comfortable and confident in the corporate environment.
Following a long period as a full-time mother to four children, in which time she suffered several serious health issues (including breast cancer and diabetes), Helen developed a keen interest in the importance of health and wellbeing.
In mid-life, Helen returned to university study a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition, complimenting her previous Master’s degree in Psychology and Philosophy.
